Some FAQ’s

Let the sunshine inside your house

A solar rooftop system is a photovoltaic (PV) installation mounted on the roof of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings to generate electricity using sunlight. It can be connected to the grid (on-grid), partially independent (hybrid), or fully independent (off-grid).

Solar panels convert sunlight into DC power → inverter converts DC to AC → power is used by appliances → excess power goes back to the grid (in on-grid systems) and generates electricity credits.

  • On-Grid (most common, net metering available)
  • Off-Grid (with batteries, for power backup)
  • Hybrid (combination of grid + batteries)

Yes. Most Indian states allow net metering for residential and commercial users, enabling you to export surplus power to DISCOM for credits on electricity bill.

Approximately 100 sq. ft per kW for standard crystalline solar modules.

Residential: ₹45,000–₹65,000 per kW (post-subsidy)

Commercial/Industrial: ₹35,000–₹50,000 per kW (no subsidy)

For residential consumers under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana or state-level programs:

1–3 kW: ₹18,000 per kW (approx)

3–10 kW: ₹9,000 per kW

Over 10 kW: Subsidy capped as per guidelines
Commercial and industrial installations do not receive subsidies.

Solar panels: 25–30 years

Inverters: 1-5 years

Structure: 20+ years

A 1 kW system typically generates 4 to 5 units per day depending on location and weather.

Cleaning panels twice a month

Annual inspection of wiring and inverter

Performance monitoring via mobile app/portal

Yes. Many banks, NBFCs, and solar providers offer EMI loans with 7–10% interest rates for 3–5 years.
